Lawrence David (L.D.) Brown, 94 of Poole, KY

POOLE, KY - Lawrence David (L.D.) Brown, 94 of Poole, KY passed away Saturday March 31, 2012 at the St. Anthony’s Hospice Lucy Smith King Care Center in Henderson.

He was born in Webster County, KY on September 12, 1917 to the late Lawrence D. and Sarah Ann (Duckworth) Brown. He was a Farmer and member of Shady Grove General Baptist Church. He was also a WWII Army Veteran.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife; Mary Loyd (Nelson) Brown, Granddaughter; Elizabeth Woodard, 2 sisters; Edna Russell and Estelle Tomblinson, 4 brothers; Dallas, Dalphon, Delmer and Eugene Brown.

He is survived by 6 sons; Jerry Bentley of Henderson, KY; George Bentley of Henderson, KY; Glenn Bentley of Henderson, KY; Joe Bentley of Baskett, KY; Larry Bentley of Owensboro, KY; Stanley Woodard Jr. of Owensboro, KY; 1 brother; Dr. B.F. Brown of Frankfort, KY; 22 Grandchildren; 22 Great Grandchildren; Nieces and Nephews.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday April 4, 2012 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel. Rev. Donald Cole will officiate.

Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery in Poole with full military rites by American Legion Worsham Post #40 of Henderson.

Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 Tuesday and 9:00 AM until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony’s Hospice.
