Rowe Kittinger 81, of Calhoun, Kentucky

CALHOUN, KY - Rowe Kittinger 81, of Calhoun, Kentucky passed away Saturday, June 30, 2012 at his home.

Thaxter Rowe Kittinger was born November 20, 1930 in Rumsey, Kentucky to the late John D. and Edna Beulah Armistead Kittinger and was married to the former Debra Jean Schmidt on August 1, 1987. He retired from the Whirlpool Corporation in Evansville, was a member of the Rumsey United Methodist Church, and a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War. Rowe was a member of the McLean County Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post # 5415 and a member of the American Legion. He also enjoyed flying, farming, gardening, University of Kentucky Basketball, and spending time with both his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Rowe was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Kittinger.

Survivors include his wife, Debra Kittinger; two sons, Mark Kittinger and wife, Judy of Calhoun and Matthew Kittinger of Dubai, UAE; and three grandchildren, Lashae Kittinger, Landon Kittinger, and Garrett Kittinger.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with the Rev. Ken Berggren officiating. Burial will be in the Calhoun Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the McLean County Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post #5415. Friends may visit with Rowe’s Family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday and from 9:00 A.M. until time of services Wednesday at Musters in Calhoun.

The Rowe Kittinger Family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Rumsey United Methodist Church; 405 Kentucky 81 South; Rumsey, Kentucky 42371. Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Musters in Calhoun.
