Ruby N. Wayne, 85, of Owensboro, KY

OWENSBORO, Ky. - Ruby N. Wayne, 85, of Owensboro, KY passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born on November 11, 1927 in Ohio Co. to the late W. H. and Mary Ann Meredith McClure. Ruby was retired as a cook in the cafeteria at KY Wesleyan College after 40 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and enjoyed playing bingo, fishing, and sewing. She also loved baking cookies and candy, making doll clothes, and shopping for her grandchildren during the Christmas holidays. She was also preceded in death by a son, Ronald Eugene Wayne on May 20, 2003.

Surviving are her husband of 64 years, Charles S. Wayne, four sons, Charles David (Donna) Wayne and James M. Wayne, all of Owensboro, Frank Dean Wayne of Riva, MD, and Joseph S. Wayne and his lifepartner, Theresa Steindel of Louisville, three daughters, Barbara Jean Ervin and Donna K. Stinnett, both of Owensboro, and Patricia Ann Thompson of Calhoun, 17 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, and a brother, Porter Lee McClure of Utica.

There will be visitation and a time of sharing from 2:00-6:00 P.M. Saturday, March 2 concluding with prayers at 6:00 P.M at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, c/o the Memorial Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942. Online condolences may be placed at www.glennfuneralhome.com.
