Joseph William (Joe Bill) Sims, 59, of Owensboro, KY

OWENSBORO, Ky. - Joseph William (Joe Bill) Sims, 59, of Owensboro, KY passed away Sunday, March 3, 2013, peacefully at his home. Joe Bill was born May 16, 1953, in Owensboro, KY. , to the late William M. Sims and Dorothy Howard Sims. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and retired from Swedish Match where he worked 38 years as an industrial mechanic.

He enjoyed golf and UK basketball, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Priscilla Ruff.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Regenia Smith Sims; two children, Joshua Sims (Penny) and Beth Jones (Jimmy); his three precious grandchildren, Ashton, Hunter and Trinity Jones; brother, Larry M. Sims (Jean) sister, Pam Wells (Joe Billy), all of Owensboro, and brother-in-law, Jim Ruff, of Boonville, Indiana.

Services will be at 12:00pm. Wednesday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home.

Visitation at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home from 3:00 to 7:00pm. Tuesday and from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p. m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Father Joseph E. Bradley will officiate.

The family requests that expression of sympathy take the form of donations to

Hospice of Western Kentucky, 3419 Wathens Crossing, Owensboro, KY.

Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
