Margaret M. (Peg) Lawrence, 91, of Owensboro, KY

OWENSBORO, Ky. - Margaret M. (Peg) Lawrence, 91, of Owensboro, KY passed away March 8, 2013 at her daughter's house in Owensboro, surrounded by her family. She was born on May 30, 1921 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Miles and Elizabeth Mutchler. She retired as a secretary for the Meadville Country Club in 1982 and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Meadville. She enjoyed playing bridge, golf, Tai-Chi, needlework, ceramics, reading and crossword puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George H. Lawrence in February 1972; and by a son, Bruce M. Weller in January, 2008.

She is survived by a daughter, Penny Howard (James) of Owensboro; a son, Scott Lawrence of Meadville, PA; two daughters-in-law, Denise Lawrence of Panama City, FL and Marla Weller of Newburgh, IN; seven grandchildren, Beth McKay (Stan) and Steve Howard (Angie), both of Owensboro; Susan Brannen (Jesse) of Texas, Richard Howard (Megan) of San Diego, CA, Chris Farris (Jim) of Reynoldsburg, OH, Michelle DeLaet (Mike) of Liberty Township, OH, and David Weller of Newburgh, IN; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, a brother, Miles H. Mutchler (Barb) of Mineola, TX; two nephews; and a very special cousin, Gail McConnell (Fred) of Carlisle, PA.

Her family and friends will always remember her love of live and travel, and her strong, independent lifestyle. As she requested, her family will honor her request to "Remember me with smiles and laughter for that's the way I'll remember you all. If you can only remember me with tears, then don't remember me at all."

Services will be at 12:00p.m. on Monday, March 11, 2013 at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. Visitation will be on Monday after 9:00a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be announced at a later date at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Meadville, PA.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Daviess County Public Library, 2020 Frederica Street, Owensboro, KY 42301 or to the Humane Society, 3101 W. Second Street, Owensboro, KY 42301.
