Raymond A. Vanover 88, of Sacramento, KY

OWENSBORO, Ky. - Raymond A. Vanover 88, of Sacramento, KY passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013 at the NHC Health Care in Madisonville. Raymond Andrew Vanover was born August 25, 1924 in Daviess County, KY to the late Alonzo and Addie Crabtree Vanover, was married to the former Wilma Francis Stratton on June 6, 1940 until her death on December 21, 1999, and was later married to the former Wilma Jean Strader on October 6, 2000. Raymond retired as the East Division Maintenance Superintendent for Peabody Coal Company, was a member of the Calhoun Holiness Church, and attended the United Christian Fellowship Church in Sacramento. Music was his main interest, and he also enjoyed gardening, fishing, and hunting.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Vanover; two sons, Bobby Gene Vanover and wife, Faye of Hanson and Raymond A. Vanover, Jr. and wife, Amelia of Mt. Vernon, Indiana; a step son, Jeff Ford and wife, Marlene of Bremen; a step daughter, Gale Ford of Sacramento; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Prudine Frashure and Margie Cobb both of Owensboro.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with the Rev. Kelly Turner officiating. Burial will be in the Calhoun Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Raymond's family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday and from 9:00 A.M. until time of services Wednesday at Musters in Calhoun.

The Raymond A. Vanover family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Calhoun Cemetery, Beautification Fund; C/O Winfred Williams; P.O. Box 201; Calhoun, KY 42327. Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Musters in Calhoun.
