Dorothy Anne (Dotty) Brumbaugh, 88, of Owensboro, KY

OWENSBORO, Ky. - Dorothy Anne (Dotty) Brumbaugh, 88, of Owensboro, KY passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013, at her home. She was born January 15, 1925 in Louisville, KY to the late Harry and Anna (Mahlinger) Brumbaugh. She graduated from Owensboro High School, Murray State University with a bachelor's degree and earned a master's degree from Indiana University. She was also Head Resident at Illinois University and served as Panhellenic Advisor at Ohio University. She retired from Owensboro High School after 30 years of teaching and was fondly remembered as the Owensboro High School Guidance Counselor. She was an accomplished seamstress and pianist. She was a lifetime member of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed playing the piano for the Mary Lou Phillips Sunday school class.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Clifford L. Brumbaugh of Gainesville, Fl. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Mrs. Clifford L. Brumbaugh of Gainesville, FL; nieces, Ruth Brumbaugh of Gainsville, Sara Brumbaugh Henneberger (Thom) of California; a nephew, Wade Brumbaugh of Gainesville; cousins, Charles Mahlinger (Heather) of Owensboro, Barbara Logsdon of Owensboro and Luanne Mitchell of Barbourville, KY and her beloved cat Berry. The family would like to thank Comfort Keepers, Shirley Allen and Sue Winkler for the excellent care they provided.

Services will be at 10:00 am Wednesday, March 20, 2013, in the Rosehill Mausoleum Chapel. There will be no visitation. For those who wish, donations of remembrance may be made to Settle Memorial United Methodist Church, 201 E. 4th Street, Owensboro, KY 42303. James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in Owensboro is in charge of arrangements.
