OWENSBORO, Ky. - Cynthia Carter Bell, 55, of Niceville, Florida passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Ft Walton Beach Medical Center in Ft Walton Beach, Florida following a lengthy battle with Lupus. Cynthia Kaye Carter was born September 7, 1957 in Belém, Brazil. She was the daughter of Arthur Carter, Jr. and Marlene Carter, was raised in Calhoun, and was married to Thomas Ora Bell on August 8, 1975. Cynthia had a passion for collectibles, crafts and gardening, but her true calling was evident by her devotion to her family. Her pride and joy was her grandchild, Ellis Elizabeth Bell. She cherished and fully enjoyed every available moment she was able to spend with her. While illness forced her into early retirement, Mrs. Bell enjoyed a varied career history, exploring endeavors in small business entrepreneurships and private bookkeeping, as well as office management and marketing. Her intelligence, dedication and professionalism were trademarks that allowed her to successfully pursue careers in a variety of fields while she accompanied her husband and family across the world during his service in the U.S. Air Force.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her father.
Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Thomas Bell of Niceville; oldest son, Keanan Bell, his wife, Caroline and their daughter, Ellis of Tampa; youngest son, Kaleb Bell and his wife, Ashley of Palm Beach Gardens; her mother, Marlene Carter of Owensboro; four sisters, Debbie Stewart, Kathy Mattingly, Becky Edgar all of Owensboro, and Pam Hicks of Livermore; a multitude of close friends and extended family.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with the Rev. Carl Sparks officiating. Burial will be in the Poplar Grove Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Cynthia's family from 11:00 A.M. until time of services Saturday at Musters in Calhoun.
