Helen D. Ashley, 91, of Owensboro, KY

OWENSBORO, Ky. - Helen D. Ashley, 91, of Owensboro, KY passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at Hillcrest Healthcare Center in Owensboro. She was born September 2, 1921 in Livermore, KY to the late Bernice and Blanche (Boyken) Durham. She had been employed as a medical assistant and volunteered for Girls, Incorporated. She was an active member of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church. She enjoyed flowers, golf, decorating her home and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Ashley in 1967 and by a daughter, Jeannie Survant.

She is survived by her daughters, Laura Ashley of Owensboro and Melinda Kaczur (Gary) of Atlanta, GA; a son-in-law, Joe Survant of Bowling Green, KY; grandchildren, Karri Leisure of Owensboro, Ashley Krygiel of Lexington, KY, Ted Byrum (Arlene) of Atlanta, GA and Alex Renick (Ryan) of Bowling Green, KY; seven great grandchildren and a brother, Sam Durham (Lynn) of Owensboro.

Memorial services are 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Settle Memorial United Methodist Church in Owensboro. Visitation is from 1:30-2:30 p.m. on Saturday at the church. James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro is in charge of arrangements. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Settle Memorial United Methodist Church, 201 E. 4th Street, Owensboro, KY 42303.
