Virginia Nell (Ginelle) Saalwaechter, 89, of Owensboro, KY

OWENSBORO, Ky. - Virginia Nell (Ginelle) Saalwaechter, 89, of Owensboro, KY passed away on Friday, April 5, 2013, at Hermitage Care and Rehabilitation in Owensboro. She was born to the late Harold Patterson Taylor and Mina Cathryn Newton Taylor on November 8, 1923. She was preceded in death by a daughter in 1945; her husband of 24 years, Ferrell D. Collier in 1969; her husband of 27 years, Paul M. Saalwaechter in 1999; and two sisters, Helen Kuhn and Louise Bloodworth. She loved the Lord, her family and her friends.

She is survived by children, Ron (Diane) Collier, Phil (Arleen) Collier both of Owensboro, KY, Steve (Donna) Collier of Philpot, KY and Kathy (Steve) Leet of McDonough, GA. She was the stepmother of Darrell (Becky) Saalwaechter of Bowling Green, KY and David (Theresa) Saalwaechter of Montgomery, AL. From these combined families she enjoyed fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one nephew and two nieces.

She is currently a member of Eaton Memorial Baptist Church, but was a member of Third Baptist Church for 82 years. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Vota Vita Sunday School Class of Third Baptist Church or to the general fund of Eaton Memorial Baptist Church.

Services are 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 8, 2013, at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro, with Dr. Dennis McFadden officiating. Burial is in Elmwood Cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 2:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday and after 9:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
