Mabel Mason Worthington, 87, of Livia, KY

OWENSBORO, Ky. - Mabel Mason Worthington, 87, of Livia, KY passed away at her son's home. She was born October 3, 1925 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She retired from Foust Elementary School as a teacher's aide in 1981. She was honored for her volunteer service at Utica Elementary School and presented with a Star Award in 1997. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Friendship Sunday School Class. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, needlepoint, reading and working in her flower garden. She also enjoyed keeping up with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Robert E. Worthington, on January 7, 2010.

She is survived by her son, Carl G. Worthington (Beth) of Livia; her daughter, Lynn Marie Worthington (Gene King) of Illinois; stepson, Robert E. Worthington, Jr. (Judith) of Sacramento, KY; stepdaughter, Ann Marie Worthington of Yukon, OK; eleven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and a brother, Paul Mason (Betty) of New Jersey.

Services are 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2013, at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. Burial will follow in Worthington Cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday and after 9:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Daviess County Animal Shelter, 2620 Hwy. 81, Owensboro, KY 42301.
