Joyce Hamilton Jarvis

OWENSBORO, Ky. - On Tuesday, April 9, 2013, Joyce Hamilton Jarvis joyously entered the kingdom of heaven. Joyce Francis Hamilton was born to Paul & Pauline Hamilton on May 2, 1942 in Daviess County.

Joyce was a positive thinker and a joy to all who knew her. She was a member of Crosspointe Baptist Church where she worked diligently on the Kitchen Team, Membership Team, Caring Hearts Mission Group, and as Assistant Church Treasurer. Her faithful service and smiling face will be sorely missed by her brothers and sisters in Christ. Joyce retired from Field Packing Company in 2004. She was a member of the Quilter's Guild and an avid bowler.

Joyce was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Harvey Jarvis on June 3, 2011. Also deceased are her parents; daughter, Jackie Lambert; step-grandson, Scotty Foote; brothers Joe, Jimmy & Martin Hamilton; and sisters, Judy Bainbridge, Joan Daily, and Mary Magan.

Surviving are three sons, John (Gail) O'Bryan of Illinois, Jeff (Shelly) O'Bryan, & Greg O'Bryan of Owensboro; two step-daughters, Sharon Rickard and Teresa (Jeff) Rascoe; and siblings, John (Chryl), Philip (Pat), and Tommy Hamilton, and Cathy (Gene) Knight; Grandchildren are Daniel, Christopher, Brandy, Gregory, Timothy, Brittany, Rebecca & Jessica O'Bryan, Nicholas & Michael Harris, Zachary McCarty and Ashley Lambert. Step-grandchildren are Davea Foote, Kenny Hagan, Aimee (Caleb) Isenberg, Derek (Courtney) Maglinger, Jonathan, Michael & Elizabeth Rascoe, and Christopher Rickard. Her special niece, Lisa Jewell and dear friend, Kenny Taylor also remain.

Services will be held at Crosspointe Baptist Church on Friday, April 12, 2013, at 2:30 p.m. with Reverend Farrell Isenberg officiating. Visitation is at James H. Davis Funeral Home on Thursday from 3 pm to 8 pm and at Crosspointe Baptist Church on Friday from 12 pm to 2:30 pm. Burial is in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers include John, Jeff & Greg O'Bryan, Tommy Hamilton, Derek Maglinger and Caleb Isenberg.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Crosspointe Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 21705, Owensboro, KY 42304.
