OWENSBORO, Ky. - Neil K. Butterworth, Sr. 81, of Livermore, Ky went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at his home in Livermore surrounded by both his family and friends. Neil Kenneth Butterworth was born October 12, 1931 in Kanawha County, West Virginia to the late Frank James and Florence Peters Butterworth and was married to the former Betty Loris Wade on March 30, 1950. He was a retired coal miner, a member of the Christ Gospel Church in Livermore, and a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. Neil enjoyed racing, gardening, music, and helping others.
Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Betty Butterworth; two sons and their wives, Neil and Debra Butterworth of Utica and Paul and Trish Butterworth of Hermitage, Tennessee; two daughters and their husbands, Mary and Glenn Higdon of Owensboro and Anita and Darrell Case of Livermore; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; two brothers, Darrell Butterworth of Michigan and Joe Butterworth of Ohio; and three sisters, Lillian Butterworth, Sue Dereks, and Diana McEntire all of Indiana.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 P.M. Saturday at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel with the Rev. Van Ashton officiating. Burial will be in the Green River Memorial Gardens in Livermore with Military Honors conducted by the McLean County Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post # 5415. Friends may visit with Neil's family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday and from 11:30 A.M. until time of services Saturday at Musters in Livermore.
