Eric Scott Crabtree, 33, of Owensboro, KY

OWENSBORO, Ky. - Eric Scott Crabtree, 33, of Owensboro, KY went to be with the Lord while surrounded by friends and family on April 12th, 2013. He is now attending the great celestial music festival and jamming with those who have gone before him. Eric was born September 3rd 1979 in Owensboro, graduated from Daviess County High School in 1998 and went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree from Western KY University. He loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with them. He also enjoyed his mission work at the Boulware Center. Eric played all types of sports growing up but his main love was music. He more than loved music, he lived it! From the many days, weeks, and months on the road traveling and touring with different bands and groups, to the way he immersed himself in the knowledge and history of all the forms of music he enjoyed, music was truly intertwined with his spirit. Eric was one of those special people who could set his spirit free, dancing in his seat, in the aisles or on the lawns at the shows where the music moved him.

Eric was preceded in death by his grandparents; Mary Bell Bratcher Crabtree, Burt Thomas Crabtree, and Jack and Clara Newton.

He is survived by his parents Dr. Ron and Vicki Newton; his sister Mary Newton; his brother David Newton (Olivia); his step siblings Elizabeth Finney and Sargent John Finney; his aunt Kay Nall (Allan); his uncles, James Newton (Linda) and Don Newton; his cousins, Tommy Nall, Sherri Nall, and Kailey Nall; and a very special friend Gavin Walker.

The funeral service for Eric will be held at Cumberland Presbyterian Church on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 pm Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and after 10:00 am until time of service Wednesday at the church .

Memorial contributions may be made to Eric Crabtree Memorial Fund or The American Diabetes Association
