Dorothy Jones Embry, 66, of Owensboro, KY

OWENSBORO, Ky. - Dorothy Jones Embry, 66, of Owensboro, KY passed away Monday, April 15, 2013 at Owensboro Health Inc. She was born January 8, 1947 in Daviess County, KY to the late Walter J. and Madaline Fowler Jones. She was retired from the Daviess County Board of Education and was of the Pentecostal Faith. She enjoyed reading, sewing and painting.

Aside from her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Wendell Embry, (2008), a brother, Raymond “Buster” Jones and two sisters, Judy Church and Brenda Mae Jones.

Surviving are two daughters, Shellanda “Shelly” Riley and Juanita Straney, both of Owensboro, six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, two brothers Randall Jones and Tommy Jones, both of Owensboro and two sisters, Barbara Hall of Owensboro and Violet Johnson of Tell City, Indiana.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home with Reverend Anthony Cobb and Reverend Michael Johnson officiating and burial to follow in Rosehill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home.
