Russell Lee Rudd, 84 of Owensboro, KY

OWENSBORO, Ky. - Russell Lee Rudd, 84 of Owensboro, KY passed away Sunday, April 14, 2013. He was born on September 12, 1928 in Cleaton, KY to the late Rufus and Ethel Veach Rudd. He was a member of Hall Street Baptist Church and the Owensboro Antique Car Club. Russell was previously employed by Feldhaus Schwartz and Don Moore Chevrolet & Cadillac and retired from Rudd's Auto Sales. He enjoyed the Antique Car Club Cruise Inns, racing, supporting, and promoting local race tracks. In 2008 Russell was inducted into the inaugural class of the Motorsports Hall of Fame.

He is preceded in death by his siblings; Marjorie Knackstedt, Shirley Brown, and Ralph Rudd.

Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Reva Roach Rudd, a daughter, Rebecca (Lindy) Whitehead, a son, Ricky (Misty) Rudd all of Owensboro, five grandchildren; Crystal (Brian) Richards, Jana Whitehead, Kaylee Whitehead, Carson Rudd, Camden Rudd, a great granddaughter, Reese Richards all of Owensboro, sisters-in-law, Monnie Jones and Margaret Rudd and brother-in-law, Bill Brown, and several nieces and nephews.

Services are at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 3:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday and after 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hall Street Baptist Church, 1102 Hall Street, Owensboro, KY 42303 or Hospice of Western KY, 3419 Wathens Crossing, Owensboro, KY 42301
