Bill Robey, 84, of Owensboro, KY

OWENSBORO, Ky. – Bill Robey, 84, of Owensboro, Kentucky passed away Sunday, April 21, 2013, at his home.

He was born August 30, 1928 in Owensboro to the late James B. and Venita Robey. He attended Murray State University and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He retired after 40 years of employment with Texas Gas Transmission Corporation. He was a member of Lewis Lane Baptist Church. Bill was an accomplished musician.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Chrissy Cox Robey; two sons, Rodney Robey (Sharon) of Billings, MT and Scott Robey (Tina) of Louisville, KY; two granddaughters, Paige Robey and Erin Finn both of Louisville, KY; two brothers, Jim Robey of Columbia, SC and Bob Robey of Fordsville, KY and several nieces and nephews.

Services are 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at Lewis Lane Baptist Church in Owensboro. Burial is in Old Buck Creek Cemetery in Nuckols, KY.

Visitation is from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro and after 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Lewis Lane Baptist Church.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Lewis Lane Baptist Church CLC, 2600 Lewis Lane, Owensboro, KY 42301; Hospice of Western Kentucky, 3419 Wathens Crossing, Owensboro, KY 42301 or to Telephone Pioneers, c/o Stephen Rice, 3708 Pine Lake Court, Owensboro, KY 42303.
