OWENSBORO, Ky. - William (Don) Lott, Sr., 79, of Owensboro, KY passed away Monday, April 22, 2013, at Owensboro Health. He was born November 8, 1933 in Hancock County, KY to the late Robert and Ethel Lott. He retired from Commonwealth Aluminum in 1994, worked at V.E. Anderson and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of Sorgho Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, coin collecting, playing cards and was a big U.K. fan. His greatest joys were his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty L. Lott on October 22, 2004; sisters, Mary "Tootsie" Ridings, Linnie Berry, Faye Gordon, Vonceile Newton, and Brenda Lott; a brother, Robert "Bubby" Lott; a son, Kenny Hatcher; a grandchild; and two great grandchildren.
He is survived by five children, Judy Towery-Croslin (Eugene Croslin); Kathy Wilkey (Steve), Richard Hatcher (Adeline Joy), Donnie Lott (Jeremiah Smith) and Troy Lott (Rex Bumm); 11 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Alfred "Happy" Lott and several nieces and nephews.
Services are 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 26, 2013, at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. Entombment is in Rosehill Cemetery in Owensboro, with military honors. Visitation is from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday and after 9:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
