John Lee White, age 64, of Owensboro, KY formerly of Hopkinsville, KY

OWENSBORO, Ky. - John Lee White, age 64, of Owensboro, KY formerly of Hopkinsville, KY passed away Friday, April 26, 2013 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN of natural causes.

Mr. White was born on June 18, 1948 in Christian County, KY, the son of the late John W. and Ruby Dorothy Hancock White. He was an owner of B&W Cabinets & Doors in Henderson, KY. John previously worked at Owen’s Supply Company in Hopkinsville for 19 years. He was a salesman and General Manager for Addison Corp. in Owensboro, KY, and he was a manager at Quinn Lumber in Henderson, KY. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Owensboro, KY and a past member of New Palestine Baptist Church. John enjoyed watching Kentucky Basketball and The New York Yankees, spending time with family and friends. John was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Ray “Shorty” White in 2003.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Sharon Lynn Burton White of Owensboro, KY; his daughter, Deborah Kaye Watts and her husband, Wayne of Hopkinsville, KY, and Audra Lynn Edgell and her husband, Michael of Owensboro, KY; his brother, Jerry W. White of Hopkinsville, KY; his sisters, Carolyn Wiley and her husband, Chuck of Nicholasville, KY, and Shirley Phipps and her husband, Larry of Crofton, KY; and five grandchildren; Brittney and Justin Keim, Austin, Logan, and Madison Edgell.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with Rev. David Hocker officiating. Burial will follow in Fuller Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, April 29, 2013 at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers donations may be sent Gideons International Christian County Gideon Camp at P.O. Box 982 Hopkinsville, KY.
