William Junior Blandford, 91, of Owensboro, KY

OWENSBORO, Ky. - William Junior Blandford, 91, of Owensboro, KY passed away Friday, April 26, 2013, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born October 9, 1921, in Daviess County to the late William George and Mary Florine Stallings Blandford. He retired from Glenmore Distillery and was a WWII Veteran. He was a member of St. Stephen Cathedral and also a member of Sons of the American Revolution.

He was preceded in death by a sister Edwina Johnson.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret H. Vowels Blandford; a son, William K (Gena) Blandford of Owensboro; and a daughter, Cynthia R. (Randall) Denney of Tuscaloosa, AL.; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren, a brother, Joseph Walter Blandford of Lowell, IN, five sisters, Lucille Vowells, Edith Conkwright, Leone Prewitt all of Owensboro, Mary Emogene Alvey of Louisville and Marie Thompson of Owensboro.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at St. Stephen Cathedral with Father John Vaughan officiating and entombment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery with military honors presented by VFW Post 696. Visitation will be at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday with prayers being said at 5:30 p.m. and visitation from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 696, 311 W Veterans Blvd., Owensboro, KY 42301
