OWENSBORO, Ky. - Dorothy (Mickey) McIntyre, 87 of St. Joseph, KY, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2013, at home. She was born on March 31, 1926 in Daviess County to the late John and Mary Etta Fulkerson Dant. She was a retired Machine operator from General Electric. She was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and Altar Society. She enjoyed canning, gardening, country music, but most of all she loved spending time with her children and her grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Jesse T. McIntyre Sr.; three brothers, Douglas Dant, Sylvester Dant and Joseph Roy Dant; three sisters, Gertrude Edwards, Lucille Hayden and Christine Clouse..
She is survived by two sons, Jesse T. McIntyre Jr. of Rockport, Indiana, Mike (Vicky) McIntyre of Owensboro; five daughters Judy Peters of Curdsville, KY, Shirley (Donnie) Story of Owensboro, Laquita (Steve) McCarty of Curdsville, KY, Jeanyne Haynes of St. Joseph, KY, and Annette (Greg) Dant of Beech Grove, KY; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; two sisters Rose Hayden and Alice “Pally” Sutton of Owensboro; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Tuesday, at 11 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church with Father Ray Geotz and Father Richard Powers officiating. Burial will follow in St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 3 to 8 p.m. at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home and from 9 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to St. Alphonsus Church Building Fund 7925 State Route 500, Owensboro, KY 42301. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
