One Injured in Two-Vehicle Collision

traf acc w inj300OHIO COUNTY, Ky. (4/30/13) – Ohio County EMS, Masonville Fire Department, Ohio County Sheriff’s Department, and Kentucky State Police Post 16 responded to an accident with injuries at 10:24 a.m. on Sunday, April 28, according to Kentucky State Police.

Authorities said Tricia Vanover of Calhoun was traveling west on Ky. Hwy. 764 in a 2010 Toyota Corolla as Bobbie McGrew of Utica was traveling east on the same road in a 2001 Ford Focus. As Vanover crested a hill she apparently noticed that McGrew was across the center line partially in the west bound lane. Police said Vanover swerved to avoid a collision and left the roadway on the north side of the roadway. She then lost control of her car, crossed back over the highway, and struck an earth embankment head on. Her car came to final rest partially on the roadway. She was taken to the hospital by a family member.

Authorities said McGrew swerved to avoid the collision with Vanover and overcorrected, causing her vehicle to exit the roadway on the north side where she struck an earth embankment. Her vehicle then followed the ditch and overturned coming to final rest in the ditch. McGrew was transported by Ohio County EMS to OMHS where she was treated.
