Douglas R. Benjamin, 61, of Louisville, KY

OWENSBORO, Ky. - Douglas R. Benjamin, 61, of Louisville, KY passed away Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville. He was born on April 28, 1951 in Binghamton, NY. Doug was in retail management, employed by Dollar General Stores. He was a people person, loved to socialize and have fun. He enjoyed reading, cooking, sports, and playing with his grandkids. He is preceded in death by his father, Francis Benjamin, and a sister, Barbara.

Survivors include his son, Brian (Beth) Benjamin of Owensboro; his daughter, Lisa (Clinton) Graham of San Antonio, TX; two grandchildren, Brady and Brennan Benjamin; the mother of his children, Dorine Benjamin of Somerset, KY; his mother, Lee Baker of Georgetown, DE ; his step- mother, Janet M. Fuller of Berkshire, NY; two brothers, Tim (Angela) Benjamin of Newnan, GA, and Charles (Judy) Benjamin of Annapolis, MD, half-sister, Robin Gorman of Georgetown, DE; and nieces and nephews, Debbie, Danny, Colleen, Wilbur, Carrie, and Charles, Jr.

Services are 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 3, 2013, at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home in Owensboro, KY. Private burial is in Rosehill Cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday and after 9:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society, 1302 Frederica Street, Owensboro, KY 42301.
