Mary K. Edge, 86, of Owensboro, KY

OWENSBORO, Ky. - Mary K. Edge, 86, of Owensboro, KY passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at her home. She was born September 3, 1926 in Henderson, KY, to the late John Owen and Mae Bell Millan Hollifield. She retired from Owensboro Hospital and Henderson Hospital as a nurse. She was a member of Latter Day Saints and enjoyed being with her family and friends.

Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William S. Sandefur (1962), her second husband, William Payton Edge (1973, a daughter, Vicki Lee Mattingly (2003) and a granddaughter, Tonya Irene Long (2004).

Surviving is a son, Larry Stanley (Teresa) Sandefur of Whitesville, three daughters, Rebecca Ann (Don) Bowlds of Owensboro, Phyllis Gail (Richard) Sandefur of Owensboro and Regina Howard of Texas.14 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren, two sisters, Peggy (Gene) Richmond of Slaughters, Sharon Hyams of Henderson and a brother, Don Anthony Hollifield of Texas.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home with Father Richard Powers officiating and burial to follow in Rosehill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home and from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. Saturday.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Western KY, 3419 Wathens Crossing, Owensboro, KY 42301. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
