Martha Sue Wimsatt, 67 of Owensboro, KY

OWENSBORO, Ky. - Martha Sue Wimsatt, 67 of Owensboro, KY, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Owensboro Health Inc. She was born December 18, 1945 in Muhlenberg County to Ida Pauline Stogner and the late Richard Horace Stogner. She retired from Daviess County Public School System as a bus driver. She enjoyed going to the Las Vegas Casinos, bowling, gardening and needle work.

Aside from her father, she is preceded in death by her husband, Owen “Big Daddy” Wimsatt (1997), a niece and a nephew.

She is survived by her mother, a daughter, Carolyn Wimsatt of Owensboro, a granddaughter, Madison Victoria Pollard, four brothers, Doil (Charlotte) Stogner of Reed, Hugh (Rhonda) Stogner of Chandler, Indiana, Roger Stogner of Whitesville, Lotus (Pam) Stogner of Owensboro, three sisters, Lue (Don) Splittorff of Chandler, Indiana, Jeanette Stogner of Livermore, and Darlene (Greg) Yost of Henderson.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph & Paul Catholic Church with Father Carmelo Jimenez Salinas officiating and burial to follow in Resurrection Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home and from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Prayers will be said Thursday at 7:15 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to SPARKY, c/o John and Bridget Austin, 227 St. Ann Street, Suite 400, Owensboro, KY 42303.
