Richard H. Mason, 86, of Owensboro

1doveOWENSBORO, Ky. - Richard H. Mason, 86, of Owensboro, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013, at his home. He was born August 8, 1926, in Owensboro, Ky. to the late Marvin and Mabel Robertson Mason. He retired from OMU and was the owner of Mason McBride Printing Company. He was a member of St. Stephen Cathedral, AMVETS, American Legion, VFW and a veteran of the US Navy. He loved animals, western movies, playing cards, watching Cheers and comedy movies on TV. Richard was known as a gentle person with a big heart.

Aside from his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Dickie McBride Mason; and a sister, Marvadean Oberst.

He is survived by his wife and best friend, Diana Davies Mason; a daughter, Sherry Mason Orozco of Newkingstown, Rhode Island; a stepson, Marquis Quinn of Owensboro; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation and private services were held. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to Alzheimer’s Association, Greater KY and Southern IN Chapter, Kaden Tower, 6100 Dutchmans Ln, STE 401, Louisville, KY 40205-3284 or Daviess County Animal Shelter, 2620 Highway 81, Owensboro, KY 42301.
