Jerald C. McKenzie, 54, of Owensboro

1sunsetOWENSBORO, Ky. - Jerald C. McKenzie, 54, of Owensboro, passed away Friday, May 24, 2013 at his home.

He was born January 2, 1959 in Jackson, Alabama to Lula Mae McKenzie and the late Joe C. McKenzie. He worked at Fields Packing in Quality Control. He was a member of Greater Ebenezer Temple and is a US Navy Veteran. He enjoyed fishing, tennis and football.

Aside from his father, he is preceded in death by a grandchild, Actavious McKenzie.

He is survived by his mother, his former wife, Dionne McKenzie, and their children, Isaac McKenzie of Owensboro, Ashley McKenzie, US Army, of Fort Lee, VA, Jereal C. McKenzie, Jr. of Owensboro; his former wife, Joyce McKenzie, and their children, Donta (Peanut) McKenzie, Willie McKenzie, Holiwood McKenzie, Santanna McKenzie all of Owensboro, siblings, Debra McKenzie Groves of Kansas City, Missouri, Ken (La’Tanya) McKenzie of Owensboro, Keith (Cathy) McKenzie, Beverly (John) Geary, Patrick (Tasha) McKenzie all of Louisville and Donna (Dwayne) McKenzie Morrison of Owensboro and twenty-five grandchildren.

Services will be 12:30 p.m. Saturday, at Greater Ebenezer Temple Church with Bishop James Moore officiating and burial to follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Greater Ebenezer Temple Church.

Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
