William J. Hornsby, 80 of Owensboro

2sunsetOWENSBORO, Ky. - William J. Hornsby, 80 of Owensboro, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2013, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born on March 5, 1933, in Harlan, KY to the late Wiley Clay Hornsby and Ginny Lois Thomas Hornsby. He was retired factory worker after 24 years from Keizer Aluminum in Toledo Ohio. He was a member of Good Shepherd Church. William had a great personality, he loved his family, raised two of his grandsons and loved helping others.

He also was preceded in death by two sons, Kevin and Donald Hornsby; and a sister Charlene Marcum.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years Virginia L Hornsby of Owensboro; a daughter Linda Gray of Owensboro, two sons James Hornsby of Owensboro and Ronald Hornsby of Toledo Ohio; eight grandchildren, Eddie Hornsby, Jamie Siegler Hornsby, Daniel, Joshua, Heather and Robbie Hornsby, Mike and Mark Gray; six great-grandchildren; two brothers Palmer Hornsby, Frank Hornsby; and one sister Sania Covert all of Toledo, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home with Rev. John Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
