James Carrol Wedding, 80, of Owensboro, KY

blueskyOWENSBORO, Ky. - James Carrol Wedding, 80, of Owensboro, KY passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born January 14, 1933 in Oakley, KY to the late Sylvester and Stella May Wedding. He farmed and was employed by Hon Manufacturing. After retiring from Hon, he was caretaker for St. Joseph Monastery in Whitesville for 11 years. He was a member of Sts. Joseph & Paul Catholic Church and attended St. Joseph Monastery. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, achieving the rank of Corporal. He loved dancing, fishing, hunting and travelling. He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Sapp; and brothers, Frank Wedding and Bill Wedding.

He is survived by his daughter, Cathy Roper of Owensboro; grandson, Steven James Roper of Owensboro; great grandson, Cayden James Roper; brothers, Thomas "Tommy" Wedding of Owensboro and Joseph "Jody" Wedding of Whitesville; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Services are 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2013, at St. Joseph Monastery, Whitesville, KY. Entombment with military honors is in Resurrection Cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and from 8:30-9:15 a.m. on Thursday at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to St. Joseph Monastery, Passionist Nuns, 8564 Crisp Road, Whitesville, KY 42378, Sts. Joseph & Paul Catholic Church, 609 E. 4th Street, Owensboro, KY 42303 or to the Alzheimer's Association, 6100 Dutchmans Lane, Suite 401, Louisville, KY 40205.
