Arthur Carter, Sr. 82, of Calhoun, Ky

3cloudOWENSBORO, Ky. - Arthur Carter, Sr. 82, of  Calhoun, Kentucky went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at his home with his wife and family by his side. Arthur Cater was born July 22, 1930 in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky to the late Arthur and Lena Mae Cassbier Carter and was married to the former Ruby Mae Knight on June 4, 1950. Arthur retired from the Green Coal Company, Panther Mine and was a member and Deacon of the Calhoun Christian Church. He enjoyed riding his 48 H Farmal tractor, working with wood, fishing, and being with his family. Arthur especially loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all.

In addition to his parents, Arthur was preceded in death by his eldest daughter, Shirlie Carter Angel; five sisters; and three brothers.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Ruby Carter; three sons and their wives, Wayne and Nora Carter of Island, Harold and Debbie Carter of Livermore, and Carroll Carter of Island; four daughters and their husbands, Jo Ann and Steve Moore of West Louisville, Deborah Carter, Donna and Jerry Burden, and Sherry and Gary Capps all of Calhoun; fourteen grandchildren, Tabitha Stewart (Eric), Jonathan Angel (Anitra), Annie Ocasio (Angel), Amy Moore (Nathan Hayden), Crystal Clark (Jeff), Stephen Moore, Jr., Emily Carter, Dwayne Carter, Elliott Carter, Jeremy Carter (Tamara), Daniel Carter (Angelia), Jason Carter (Michelle), Ryan Carter (Jessica), and Adam Carter (Steevie); 22 great grandchildren; two sisters, Lorraine Grogg of West Virginia and Mattiellen Nigro of Ohio; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the Calhoun Christian Church with the Rev. Drex Stuart officiating. Burial will be in the Calhoun Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Arthur's family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Saturday and from 10:30 A.M. until 1:30 P.M. Sunday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel.
