Opal Dell Rice Ward, 91, of Owensboro, Ky

obit2OWENSBORO, Ky. - Opal Dell Rice Ward, 91, of Owensboro, Ky passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013 at her home. She was born on July 21, 1921 in Pellville to the late Robert Rice and Lula Nugent Rice. She worked at General Electric for 34 ½ years as a factory clerk. She was a member of Apollo Heights Baptist Church where she shared her love for music and her beautiful voice as a member of the choir. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ozetta Jackson; and two brothers, Russell Rice and Vincent Rice.

Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Kelly Ward; two step-daughters, Becky Mullen of Philpot and Sandra Culbertson of Hartford; one sister, Bobbie Langford of Owensboro; five step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11:00a.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Apollo Heights Baptist Church, 2322 Tamarack Road, Owensboro. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Hartford. Visitation will be on Monday from 2:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro and on Tuesday from 9:00a.m. until 11:00a.m. at Apollo Heights Baptist Church.
