Lucy W. McIntyre, 90

3flowerOWENSBORO, Ky. - Lucy W. McIntyre, 90, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at her home in Lexington, Ky. She was born July 4, 1923 in Daviess County, Ky. and spent most of her life in Owensboro. She was a member of Third Baptist Church and the Esther Sunday School Class, which she loved dearly. She was a longtime volunteer for Golden Partners. She loved the Lord, her family, her church and her friends and neighbors. She was an avid gardener.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Naoma Whitaker, husband Marks McIntyre, Jr., five brothers, Johnny, James, Harold, Houston and Stuart Whitaker, her sister, Thomasine Whitaker, and a son-in-law, Vincent Wooldridge.

She is survived by her daughters, Pamela McIntyre Wooldridge of Lewisport and Christy McIntyre (Kevin) Cassady of Lexington; granddaughters, Faith Wooldridge (Jason) McGuffin of Lewisport and Kathleen Wooldridge (Patrick) Rohrer of Crestwood, Ky.; three great-grandchildren, Hannah and Jenna Beth McGuffin and William Rohrer, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A special thanks to Hospice of the Bluegrass for the loving care she received during the last months of her life.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at Third Baptist Church with Dr. James Byrd and Reverend Doris Ranson officiating and burial to follow in Rosehill Cemetery.

Visitation will be at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and at Third Baptist Church from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 2312 Alexandria Drive, Lexington, KY 40504 or to Third Baptist Church, 527 Allen Street, Owensboro, KY 42303.
