At 10 a.m. on July 9, detectives with the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department and the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch, an investigator with the KSP Special Investigations Unit, a Daviess County Deputy Sheriff, and a KSP trooper served two search warrants on a residence and business in Daviess County. The warrants were served at the residence of Dennis Keaton in the 4000 block of Doe Run Drive and at his business located in the 400 block of Salem Drive. Keaton was arrested on allegations that he pocketed funds a client had paid him instead of sending the money to the Kentucky Department of Revenue and the IRS. Investigators confiscated computers, hard drives, software, laptops, and paper copies of various documents related to Keaton’s business. Keaton was arrested on two counts of Second Degree Forgery and two counts of Failure to Make Required Disposition of Property. He was lodged at the Daviess County Detention Center on a $10,000 cash bond.

At 3:30 p.m. on July 15, a Daviess County Deputy conducted a traffic stop in the 7400 block of Hwy. 2830. Authorities said the driver, Terry Belcher, 50, Owensboro, consented to a search of the vehicle. Authorities allegedly found a duffle bag containing “numerous items consistent with the manufacture of methamphetamine along with suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia.” Belcher was arrested and charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana, and No Tail Lamps.

At 8:50 p.m. on July 17, deputies and detectives with the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a residence in the 6000 block of First St. in Curdsville. Authorities alleged that they discovered a total of 900 marijuana plants with a street value of approximately $900,000 in the residence, as well as several paraphernalia items. No charges have been filed, however authorities are asking the public’s help in locating the resident of the home, Robert Alan Mattingly, 51. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 270-685-8444.
