Carl Lee Jennings of Owensboro, Ky

obit13OWENSBORO, Ky. - Carl Lee Jennings of Owensboro, Ky passed away on July 22, 2013. He was born January 16, 1923 in McLean County to the late Herbert Earl and Edna Evans Jennings.

He was a member of Wing Avenue Baptist Church, retired from General Electric and was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the Army Air Force as a radar repairman.

He started the Young at Heart Fellowship Dance which he ran for 35years.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Paul, Lewis, Truman and David Jennings.

Surviving are one brother, Ray Jennings(Dianne) of Sebree, KY.; five sisters, Carolyn Guy, Dorothy Maxwell(John), Lois Conrad(Bully) all of Calhoun, KY., Linda Pruner(Jim) of Bristol, Virginia and Kim Moore(Roy) of Hazard, KY; Many nieces and nephews and one special niece who was his caretaker, Terry Owen.

Services will be at 1:00pm. Wednesday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home.

Visitation at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home from 11:00 to 1:00pm. Wednesday.

Burial will be in Mount Vernon Cemetery in McLean County, KY. , with military honors.

Brother Anthony Cobb will officiate.

The family requests that expression of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice of Western Ky, 3419 Wathens Crossing Owensboro, KY. 42301. Envelopes will be made available at the funeral home.
