Daviess County School District Announces Start-of-School Schedule

dcps1 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (7/26/13) – Parents and students are encouraged to attend the following events posted below. For more information, contact the school your child will attend. Students who are new to the district (first time attending a DCPS school) may register between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily at their school (call school for appointment). The following documents are required: Birth certificate, Social Security card, medical exam, Kentucky immunization certificate, Kentucky eye exam, dental exam and proof of address.

The first day of school for DCPS students is Wednesday, Aug. 7.

Schedule pickup and fee payment – 8 a.m. to noon July 30-Aug. 2; and 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 1. During fee week, parents may pay school fees, learn about bus schedules, pay lunch accounts, join PAWS (parent/student organization) and sign up as a parent volunteer.

Senior parking and lockers – 8 a.m. to noon July 30. Seniors must show valid Kentucky drivers license, pay fees in full, and provide license plate number. $5 parking fee.
Junior and senior parking and lockers – 8 a.m. to noon July 31. Students must show valid Kentucky drivers license, pay fees in full, and provide license plate number. $5 parking fee.

Freshman orientation – 8 a.m. to noon Aug. 1. Orientation includes locker assignments. Freshman parent meeting begins at 8 a.m. in the DCHS auditorium.
Sophomore locker assignments – 8 a.m. to noon Aug. 2.
