J. D. Daniels 86, of Island, Ky

obit3OWENSBORO, Ky. - J. D. Daniels 86, of Island, Ky passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at the Western Ky Veterans Center in Hanson. J. D. was born July 8, 1927 in Island to the late Jessie & Mittie Wood Daniels and was married to the former Bessie "Betty" Bullock. He was an Army Veteran of WWII and the Korean War and a member of the Methodist faith. J.D. retired from the Ken Mine of Ohio County enjoyed gardening, fishing, socializing, and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Bessie "Betty" Daniels on March 2, 1995, and a sister, Anita Bullock.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Danny Joe & Donna Daniels of Island; four daughters and their husbands: Marcella & Leslie Burden of Calhoun, Sue & Tommy Banks, Jr. of Island, Becky & Scotty Dugger of Madisonville, and Carolyn & Harry Burden of Livermore; 12 grandchildren; Ronnie, Kimberly, Scott, Tommy III, Amanda, Celena, Amy, Josh, Laura, Travis, Daniel, and Phillip, 35 great grandchildren; two sisters Margie Austin of Owensboro and Charlet Daniels of Calhoun; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel with Revs. George Phillips, Sam Beeny officiating. Burial will be in the Island Community Cemetery in McLean County with Military Honors conducted by the McLean County Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post # 5415. Friends may visit with J.D.'s family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday and from 9:00 A.M. until services Saturday at Musters in Livermore.

The J. D. Daniels family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Island United Methodist Church, Building Fund; C/O Muster Funeral Homes; P.O. Box 228; Livermore, Ky 42352. Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Musters in Livermore.

The Family would like to make a heartfelt thank you to all of the staff at the Western Ky Veterans Center in Hanson for the love and care shown to their father.
