Joyce Lee Babb Goetz, 76, of Owensboro, Ky

obit6OWENSBORO, Ky. - Joyce Lee Babb Goetz, 76, of Owensboro, Ky passed away Thursday, July 25, 2013, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born February 25, 1937 in Daviess County, Ky to the late Ralph and Virginia Lee. She was a member of Apollo Heights Baptist Church. She was employed for 20 years with American Tobacco Company/Cigar Factory and retired from Lowes. She was a Ky Colonel and a member of the Younger Womens Club. She enjoyed volunteering, and cherished all her friends at the Elizabeth Munday Center. She was preceded in death by both her husband, Robert I. Goetz and her brother, Kerry Lee in 2007.

She is survived by two sons, Michael Earl Johnson (Pam Keown) of Bowling Green, KY and John F. Straney, III (Michelle) of Owensboro; a daughter, Tracie Straney Reneer (Larry "Bo") of Owensboro; four grandchildren, Jeff Johnson, Corey Hickerson, Mandie Hickerson and Hannah Straney; and three brothers, Lanny Lee of Florida, David Lee (Celeste) of Louisiana and William Daniel Lee (Dawn) of Rockport, IN.

Services are 12:00 noon on Monday, July 29, 2013, at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. Burial is private. Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon on Monday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Elizabeth Munday Center, 1650 W. Second Street, Owensboro, KY 42301.
