Agnes Niceley, 91, of Owensboro, KY

orangesunsetOWENSBORO, Ky. - Agnes Niceley, 91, of Owensboro, KY passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born June 17, 1922 in Owensboro to the late Sydney and Pauline (Rowland) Freels. She retired from Owensboro National Bank. She was a charter member of Masonville Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Tabitha Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Niceley on September 30, 1990; a grandson, Brad Smith; and three sisters, Louise Taylor, Gertrude Saltzman and Sydney Smithson.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and David Smith of Owensboro; her son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Kathy Niceley of St. Charles, MO; four grandchildren, Wyndall Smith and wife, Jenny of Louisville, KY, Lee Ann Legg and husband, Kent of Owensboro, Kara Niceley and fiancé, Jonathan Renken of St. Charles, MO and Lauren Johnson and husband, Ryan of St. Charles, MO; seven great grandchildren, Jessica Smith of Washington, DC, Justin Clark of Savannah, GA, David Wyndall Smith of Lexington, KY and Bradford Smith, Brittany Legg, Jeremy Legg and Kelsey Legg all of Owensboro; a sister, Mayme Weikel of Owensboro and several nieces and nephews.

Services are 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 5, 2013, at Masonville Baptist Church. Burial is in Mount Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery in Ohio County, KY. Visitation is from 2:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro and from 9:00-10:00 a.m. on Monday at Masonville Baptist Church. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Masonville Baptist Church, 6601 Hwy. 231, Utica, KY 42376.
