Joseph Griffin (Joe) Hendricks, 85, of Owensboro, Ky

obit2OWENSBORO, Ky. - Joseph Griffin (Joe) Hendricks, 85, of Owensboro, Ky passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Baptist Health in Madisonville, Ky. He was born August 31, 1927 in Muhlenberg County, Ky to the late John and Thelma Hale Hendricks. He retired from Owensboro National Bank as Vice President of Operations. He was a WWII Army veteran, a member of Dunmore Missionary Baptist Church and a past President of Southtown Kiwanis. Mr. Hendricks enjoyed traveling, listening to gospel music and flying. He was named Super Fan of the Year at the National Quartet Convention.

Aside from his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Wagoner Hendricks (2002).

Surviving is his current wife, Nancy D. Hendricks, step children, Joey McKay, Stan McKay both of Owensboro, Diane Hoptry of Kankakee, Illinois, Karen Wahlstron of Greenwood, Indiana, several step grandchildren, several step great grandchildren, one sister, June H. Robbins of Breman, Ky, one nephew, Greg Robbins of Virginia and one niece, Lori Tanner of North Carolina.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral with burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Greenville, Ky with military honors.

Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home and Saturday after 11:00 a.m.
