Jerry G. Boone, 47, of Slaughters, Ky

eagleOWENSBORO, Ky. - Jerry G. Boone, 47, of Slaughters, Ky passed away Sunday, August 4, 2013 at his home. He was born October 8, 1965 in Daviess County, Ky to Junior Boone and the late Iva Lee Clark. He was employed with Crop Production Services. He was a member of Onton United Methodist Church and was an Army and Navy Veteran. He loved fishing, hunting, going to the horse tracks and was a big Chicago Bears fan.

Aside from his mother, he is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kayleeyn Rae Werpecinisky and a brother, Wally Boone.

Surviving is his fiancé, Gayla Sorrels of Slaughters, his father, Junior (Sue) Boone of Owensboro, four daughters, Kasie (Jamie) Werpecinisky of Owensboro, Clarisa (Nathan) Burkhart of Henderson, Jewellia Sorrels of Slaughters, Taylor Banks of Owensboro, two sons, Ryan Johnston and Mason Banks both of Owensboro, six grandchildren, Jace Werpecinisky, Kaitlyn Burkhart, Aubrey, Jayda, Preslee, and Rylynne Johnston, three brothers, Jo Stallings, Jason Stallings, Justin (Rachel) Stallings all of Owensboro, one half sister, Elizabeth Imes of Calhoun, one half brother, Chuck Boone of Owensboro, an uncle and aunt, Jerry and Oneta Simpson of Hawesville.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home with Reverend Marty Robertson officiating and burial to follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home and Thursday after 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the National Rifle Association (NRA),

Envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.
