Tom L. Duke, 71, of Owensboro, Ky

blueskyOWENSBORO, Ky. - Tom L. Duke, 71, of Owensboro, Ky passed away on August 12, 2013 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born in Owensboro to Edward C. and Ann Margaret Duke.

Tom was a 1959 graduate of Owensboro High School and earned a degree in economics from University of KY. He retired from Owensboro Community College where he taught computer science for more than twelve years.

Tom was a Baptist. He really enjoyed genealogy and travelling abroad with his mother, nearly every summer. Their travels included 30 foreign countries and all 50 states. Their last trip was this past summer.

Tom was preceded in death by his father in 1978.

He is survived by his mother, Ann Margaret Duke; a brother, Joe Duke (Patty) of Columbus, OH; niece, Dana Duke (Steve Watsford) of Australia; nephews, John Duke (Theresa) of Cleveland, OH and Jason Duke (Jennifer) of Worthington, OH; great nieces, Helena and Hannah Duke; great nephew, Ben Duke; and his beloved dog, Bonnie.

The funeral service will be at 2 PM on Thursday, August 15 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Rev. Larry Birkhead will officiate and burial will be at Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4-7 PM and after 1 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
