Renetta M. 'Bunny' Kreke, 91, of Owensboro, Ky

obit6OWENSBORO, Ky. - Renetta M. 'Bunny' Kreke, 91, of Owensboro, Ky passed away on Friday, September 6, 2013 at Wellington Parc. She was born in Pleasant Ridge, Kentucky to the late Finis Moore and Willie Bruner.

She was a 1941 graduate of Daviess County High School and shortly thereafter became employed at General Electric. Renetta retired from G.E. (Kenrad) as a team leader after 41 years of service.

She was a longtime member of Third Baptist Church where she served in the nursery for more than twenty years. After retirement Renetta enjoyed her hobby of antique jewelry and glassware as both a collector and dealer.

Mrs. Kreke was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Richard N. Kreke in 2004; a sister, Sarah Richmond; and a brother, Robert E. Moore.

She is survived by a daughter, Pat Kreke Hale (Larry) of Owensboro; a son, Mike Kreke of Owensboro; a former daughter-in-law, Kathleen Kreke of Owensboro; granddaughter, Cheryl Kreke of Milwaukee, WI; grandsons, Aaron Kreke of Denver, CO and Matthew Kreke of Owensboro; and a sister-in-law, Margaret Moore of Owensboro.

The funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Monday, September 9, 2013 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Dr. James K. Byrd will officiate and burial will be at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2-5 PM on Sunday and after 9 AM on Monday at Glenn.

Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association c/o Wellington Parc 2885 New Hartford Rd. Owensboro, KY 42303.
