Edward L. Manaway, 87, of Owensboro, KY

OWENSBORO, Ky. - Edward L. Manaway, 87, of Owensboro, KY passed away Sunday, September 15, 2013, at his home. He was born November 17, 1925 in Daviess County, KY to the late Edwin and Nettie Manaway. He retired from the City of Owensboro as a heavy equipment operator and was a World War II Army Veteran. He enjoyed rabbit hunting, being outdoors, and the Dallas Cowboys. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Louise Rowan Manaway in 2003, his son, Edward 'Chuck Jr.' Manaway in 1960, and his grandson, Chuckie Manaway.

Survivors include his son, Griffin Manaway of Owensboro; four daughters, Shirley A. Taylor of Masonville, Nettie Darlene Morris (Jerry) of Owensboro, Patricia F. Strueh (Bob) of Boonville, IN, and April S. Henderson (Larry) of Philpot; ten grandchildren; and16 great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. Burial will be in Brushy Fork Cemetery in Daviess County, KY. Visitation is from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday and after 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Red Cross, Big Rivers Chapter, 416 W. 3rd Street, Owensboro, KY 42301.
