Betty Taylor 87, of Owensboro, KY

OWENSBORO, Ky. - Betty Taylor 87, of Owensboro, KY passed away Friday, September 20, 2013 at her home. Bessie Myrl Poiles was born March 27, 1926 in McLean County, KY to the late Elzie and Grace Virginia Farris Poiles, was married to Jack Spalding Taylor on June 2, 1951, and was better known as 'Betty' by both her family and friends. Betty retired from the McLean County Farm Bureau, was a member of the Harvest Baptist Temple in Owensboro, and enjoyed both quilting and singing. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Taylor, who passed away October 2, 1977.

Survivors include two sons and their wives, Dale and Janie Taylor of Owensboro and Glenn and Vivian Taylor of Cedar Keys, Florida; two grandsons, Zach Taylor and Zane Taylor; 3 great grandchildren; and two brothers, Dorsey Poiles of Mascoucah, Illinois and Marshall Poiles of Owensboro.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with Brother Greg Dowdy officiating. Burial will be in the Richland Baptist Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Betty's family from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Sunday and from 9:00 A.M. until time of services Monday at Musters in Calhoun.

The Betty Taylor family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Richland Baptist Cemetery Fund; C/O Jack Burden; 650 Hicks Road; Calhoun, KY 42327. Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Musters in Calhoun.
