Jo Agner, 83 of Owensboro, Ky

OWENSBORO, Ky. - Jo Agner, 83 of Owensboro, Ky passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at her home. She was born in High Point, NC on March 16, 1930 to the late Paul and Lucille Kimsey. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Jennings Agner on January 17, 2002.

Survivors include three sons, Kim of Owensboro, Michael of Jacksonville, FL and Rodney of Canton, GA. Seven grandchildren, one great grandchild, and her brother Purcell Kimsey of Highpoint, NC.

Jo graduated from Wake Forest University and was full of life. She always lit up a room with her smile, laughter, and southern charm. She enjoyed First Baptist and especially loved the Happy Hearts class. She looked forward to playing bridge with friends and attending her exercise class at Owensboro Christian Church. Jo cherished the time spent with her loving family. While teaching she touched and changed many lives but even after she retired she continued to make a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.

Services will be on Monday October 21st at 10:30am. A private entombment will be at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 on Sunday October 20th at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu flowers expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice of Western Ky, 3419 Wathens Crossing, Owensboro, KY 42301 or First Baptist Church 230 JR Miller Blvd, Owensboro, KY 42303.
