Kentucky Lions Eye Foundation Raises Money for Eye Surgeries

eye check 300KENTUCKY (11/6/13) – The Kentucky Lions Eye Foundation is a charitable non-profit organization that is organized by the Lions of Kentucky. Their mission is to help prevent and cure blindness by supporting eye research, operating eye clinics, screenings and eye banks. The foundation helps assist those who aren’t able to financially able to obtain proper eye care.

“The real winners are the 20 to 25 individuals that will receive the gift of sight. The amount of money that the Kentucky Lions Eye Foundation received was nearly $40,000,” said Noel Hardwick. “Thank each of you that supported this endeavor. Those that will be help, could never repay your kindness and generosity. Your are Knights of the Blind.”

Recently, there was a state wide raffle and the Kentucky Lions Foundation received $40,000 thanks to all the efforts that were put forth from Lions members across the state.

The 10 individuals that shared 1 percent of the gross sales include Joie Mills, Ned Dever, Dean Rowe, Kelly Goad, the Sacramento Lions Club, the Draffenville Lions Club, the Morganfield Lions Club, Larry O'Brian, the Pineville Lions Club and the Greenup Lions Club.

The five individuals that shared 3 percent of the gross sales include Verna Howell, Chuck Danison, the Fredonia Lions Club, Flo Warner and Frank Cox.

Brent Hines shared 4 percent of the gross sales and Grand Prize Bill Brown shared 20 percent of gross sales.
