Virginia Russell Devine, 96, of Utica, Ky

OWENSBORO, Ky. - Virginia Russell Devine, 96, of Utica, Ky passed away Thursday, November 7, 2013, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Virginia was born January 22, 1917 in West Frankfort, Illinois to the late Charles Dorris and Anna Marks Russell. She married L. Vernon Devine on December 22, 1934 in Dixon, KY. She moved from Union County to Owensboro in 1936. She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, L. Vernon Devine on November 8, 2002, two grandchildren, a sister and a brother.

She is survived by three sons, Donald G. Devine, of Owensboro, Ronald B. Devine of Princeton, KY and Kerry L. Devine of Utica, KY; eight grandchildren, Don Jr., Mitchell, Mike and Rodney Devine, Cynthia Willen, Adrienne, Brad and Bryan Devine; nine great grandchildren; five step-great grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a nephew.

Services are 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 11, 2013, at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. Burial is in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Ohio County, KY. Visitation is from 2:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday and after 9:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Virginia was a two time breast cancer survivor. Her family requests that donations in her memory be made to Susan G. Komen For the Cure, 4424 Vogel Road, Suite 205, Evansville, IN 47715.
