employee month1 300MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (11/14/13) - The Muhlenberg Job Corps Center would like to recognize Mr. Jason Shafer, Academic Instructor as employee of the month. Shafer is never one to say "That's not my job!" On the contrary, he is always someone who can be counted on to take care of whatever needs to be done. For example, Jason has been very instrumental in preserving and maintaining the recent renovations in the Academic buildings. He ensures the hallways are buffed weekly and assists other teachers in their classroom maintenance as well. He has great rapport with students and is always able to secure students who are willing and able to help out with projects. Jason has also served as the coach for the MCDC Bulldogs basketball team.

Jason is very proactive in addressing issues that affect students. If he sees that a student is struggling with training related problems or personal issues, he is quick to look for ways to resolve the matter.  Likewise, he is always there to support his fellow staff when needed. Mr. Shafer is a very active and productive member of the COTS (Champions of the Staff) committee at the Center where he continuously supports all staff at MCDC. He has led many activities and been a vital component of this committee since its inception. Mr. Shafer is a great example of an employee who is willing to do what it takes to make the Job Corps program successful. The Muhlenberg Job Corps and Horizons Youth Services are proud to have Mr. Shafer as part of the Job Corps team!
