Vincent Darrell Wathen, 71, Owensboro, Ky

OWENSBORO, Ky. - Vincent Darrell Wathen, 71, Owensboro, Ky passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014 at home with his family at his side. He was born January 30, 1943 to the late Edward Gerald and Marie Mills Wathen. He was the owner and operator of Wathen Electric Service and was a veteran of the Army. He was a member of St. Williams Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing Bluegrass music and fishing. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Peggy Goetz and Patsy Coons.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ena Mae Keown Wathen; his four children, Darren (Lori) Wathen of Reynolds Station, Chris (Kelly) Wathen of Louisville, Jennifer (Eric) Ball of Philpot, and Mark Wathen of Owensboro; ten grandchildren; siblings, Gerri (Red) Higdon of Whitesville, Mike (Sharon) Wathen of Colorado, Dianna Lovell of Owensboro, David (Renetta) Wathen of Owensboro, Lynette Edge of Indiana, Kenny (Caroline) Wathen of Florida, Marilyn Jean Wathen French of Philpot, sister-in-law, Bonnie Wathen of Owensboro, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be Noon on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Visitation will be 3:00-8:00 on Monday with prayers being said at 7:00 p.m. at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory and after 11:00 on Tuesday at the church. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice of Western Kentucky, 3419 Wathens Crossing, Owensboro, KY 42301 or Trinity High School, 10510 Main Cross St, Whitesville, KY 42378.
