William D. McDonough, 84, of Owensboro, Ky

OWENSBORO, Ky. - William D. McDonough, 84, of Owensboro, Ky passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014, at Kindred Transitional Care & Rehab.-Hillcrest in Owensboro. He was born September 26, 1929 in Daviess County, Ky to the late William D. McDonough, Sr. and Zelma Paxton McDonough. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Buena Vista Baptist Church. He was employed for 26 years by Texas Gas Corporation and later formed and owned McDonough-Brown & Associates. He was preceded in death by a sister, Maxine Reynolds.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Gretchen Skillman McDonough; children, William McDonough, III and wife, Nada of Calhoun, Ky, and Greta McDonough, Kevin McDonough, Kathy Harmon and husband, Steve and Geoffrey McDonough and wife, Judi all of Owensboro; nine grandchildren, Will McDonough, Wesley McDonough, Andrew McDonough, Katie Harmon, Hannah Harmon, Reading Harmon, Paxton Harmon, Alex McDonough, and Dillion McDonough; a great grandson, Preston; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services and burial are 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at Elmwood Cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. Memorial contributions may be made to Buena Vista Baptist Church, 119 W. 24th Street, Owensboro, Ky 43203 or to the Help Office of Owensboro, 1316 W. 4th Street, Owensboro, Ky 42301.
